In the beginning, way back when, God had a plan. He saw his children in countries like India, Haiti, and Guatemala suffering for lack of food and medicine. He also saw the generous, loving hearts of his children in Colorado, in La Junta and surrounding areas and, He had a dream.
In the mid 1980’s God’s dream was taking form among the Mennonites in the Arkansas Valley. If God was leading, then he would provide the means to make the dream of a combination Self Help Crafts and thrift store a reality. God blessed and the store opened on August 15, 1986.
Some 20+ years later, CrossRoads MarketPlace, is thriving. Today we celebrate God’s rich blessing. He has faithfully provided for our needs to meet the goals of outreach to our local communities and to the world community through the Mennonite Central Committee.
We are a non-profit organization sponsored by the Mennonite churches of the Arkansas Valley Emmanuel Mennonite Church, Rocky Ford Mennonite Church and East Holbrook Mennonite Church.
